Welcome to the old HPR*TEC site. As you may know, HPR*TEC was one of 10 regional technology assistance centers funded by the US Department of Education from 2000-2005. The original R*TEC program ran from 1995 to 2000 and was expanded from seven centers to 10 in 2000. ALTEC (Advanced Learning Technologies) at the University of Kansas created both South Central R*TEC, which was one of the original seven R*TECs, and the High Plains R*TEC, which was part of the expanded program.

Although the federal funding has expired, the work continues and ALTEC remains committed to providing and improving the technology resources that teachers and students have come to depend upon.
